Louise promotes S’Cool Sounds’ growth by developing key partnerships, managing finances and the organization, and fundraising. She comes most recently from a consulting position with the organizational change management firm, EmcArts. A skilled manager and facilitator with experience in arts, change management, research, and evaluation, Louise supports organizations in experimenting creatively and changing in sustainable ways. Louise has always focused on community building and appreciates the power of the arts to drive both individual growth and community development. Through her professional work, art practice, and volunteer commitments, she has worked to foster collaboration and to encourage forward movement on community-driven solutions for the past 15 years.
Prior to her work with EmcArts, Louise managed community relations and volunteer programs for the Rubin Museum of Art, developing those programs from scratch in the museum’s infancy. Louise serves on the boards of Prospect Heights Community Farm and Brooklyn Alliance of Neighborhood Gardens, and paints out of a Brooklyn studio (louisebrooksstudio.com). Born in London, raised in New York City, and in love with Montana, she spends much of her free time gardening at her local community garden or walking in the woods with her family.
