EVAN HARRIS

Evan Harris is a New York based saxophonist, composer, and educator whose passion for jazz and improvised music has informed his educational approach. Originally from Sydney, Australia, Evan offers a diverse appreciation of music and skill set having been trained in both the classical and jazz traditions, and teaches recorder and percussion for S'Cool Sounds. As a proponent for music education, Evan aspires to empower students with a wide range of skills, discipline, and self-awareness that serve as the foundations of a culturally engaged student.

A graduate of the University of Sydney and the Juilliard School, Evan released and toured his debut album "Skylines," which garnered popular and critical acclaim including two Australian Jazz Bell Award nominations (Best Instrumental Jazz Album and Best Produced Album), and the title of Young Australian Jazz Artist of the Year 2018. Evan performs regularly as a member of the Isaiah J. Thompson Quartet and on behalf of Jazz at Lincoln Center's "Jazz For Young People" program.
