Morgan Davison

Bassoonist Morgan Davison is a passionate musician and an avid learner. She recently graduated from The Juilliard School with a second Master’s degree in Historical Performance. She graduated in 2021 from Juilliard with her Master’s of Music, and earned her Bachelor’s of Music in 2019 from Manhattan School of Music. Morgan has played with professional orchestras like the Colorado Symphony and the Boston Symphony.

Hailed as the first “Bassoonfluencer” by The New Yorker, she strives to educate young bassoonists about the world of bassoon through her Instagram page “morganpracticesbassoon.” Passionate about solo playing and chamber music alike, Morgan has been the recipient of many awards, including being one of ten semifinalists for the 2019 Meg Quigley Vivaldi Competition, a two-time winner for the National YoungArts Foundation, a three-time winner for her home state of Colorado’s Young Musician’s Foundation, and a semifinalist in the Fischoff Chamber Competition. In the summer of 2022, she had the opportunity to be on the world-premiere performance and recording of composer Joseph Bologne’s only known opera, with Haymarket Opera Company. She has traveled to numerous countries for her art, including Taiwan, Italy, Switzerland, and England.

During her summer months, Morgan has attended music festivals such as Tanglewood Music Center, Aspen Summer Music Festival & School, and The Sarasota Music Festival. While attending the 2018 Aspen Summer Music Festival, Morgan was privileged to work with Walt Disney Animation Studios and prominent studio musicians from LA to showcase and tribute original scores from the last decade of great Disney movies.

In her free time, Morgan loves to commit to arts and crafts like embroidery and painting. Born in beautiful Colorado, Morgan is an enthusiastic hiker and loves to spend as much time as she can outside with her twin brother Cameron, and her family’s Australian Shepherd, Max.
