Help Us Meet the Challenge!

Excitement is building for this July's program-building trip to Kenya, and our community has responded with strong support! So far, we have raised $1,500 toward our goal of $5,000.

To keep the momentum going, S'Cool Sounds (SCS) Board Member Nancy Jo Snider has generously offered a $1,000 challenge grant. If SCS receives a further $1,000 in donations, Nancy will match that figure dollar-for-dollar. Help us meet the challenge by donating today!

While the U.S.-based team prepares for the journey, the Kenya team is eagerly awaiting the transatlantic musical reunion. SCS Kenya Music Director Jacob Saya recently captured this enthusiasm by expressing his "anticipation for your informative, supportive, and inspiring summer visit!"

Meanwhile, Jacob's staff has been hard at work leading the latest session of the Futures Music Program, engaging 50+ high school students from the Kibera neighborhood of Nairobi. During April's month-long school break, participants have the opportunity to take classes in a number of musical areas, including saxophone, keyboard, guitar, drumset, assorted African instruments, music literacy, and vocal music. In addition to high-quality music education, the program provides a positive source of community engagement for students during their time off from school.

Between the thriving programs that are currently running and the promise of deepening connections with U.S.-based staff this summer, the future is bright for music in Kibera!

Your contribution to this July's program-building trip to Kenya will support teacher professional development, student performances, new instruments, uniforms, and more!

Help us meet our $5,000 goal today!
